FAQ

Who runs this site? Why is that not disclosed?

The name of the operator is not published. This is to prevent the position of the articles from being inferred from who runs the site, and to show that it takes no side. The name of the administrator is "Options Door".

How are the articles produced?

They are written by AI. Topics are chosen from a list kept by the site's administrator. AI consults public records, writes the article in Japanese, and the article is translated automatically into the other five languages. No person reads an article before it is published. Details are given on the About page.

Can articles written by AI be trusted?

The correctness of the content cannot be guaranteed. Because the articles are written by AI and no person checks them before publication, there may be errors. Instead, the materials relied on are shown within each article. When using an article for an important decision, please check the original documents cited as sources.

Where can I check the sources?

In the parenthetical notes in the body text and under "Sources" at the end of the article. "Sources" lists the name and URL of each source, and clicking a URL opens the original document. The end of each article also states whether only public records were used or non-governmental sources were used as well.

As of when is the information in an article?

Each article shows "Information as of (date)" near its title. Later developments may not be reflected in the article.

In which languages can I read the site? What if a translation reads unnaturally?

The site can be read in six languages: Japanese, English, Chinese (Simplified), French, Spanish and Arabic. Japanese is the original; the versions in the other five languages are machine translations. Translations may contain unnatural passages or errors.

How often is the site updated?

New articles are published regularly from the list of topics. No particular publication days or number of articles is promised.

May I quote or reproduce the articles?

You may quote without contacting the site, provided that you give the site name "Options Door" and the title of the article as the source and make clear which part is quoted. Reproducing the whole or most of an article is not permitted. Details are given on the Disclaimer page.

Does the site use cookies? Does it measure visits?

This site itself does not store cookies in readers' browsers. Where measurement is carried out, Google's measurement tools are loaded only after the reader presses "Accept". At that point, Google's tag stores cookies and sends information about the visit to Google. If the reader chooses "Decline", they are not loaded. The choice can be changed at any time from "Analytics settings" at the bottom of the page. Details are given in the Privacy Policy.

Does the site support a particular party or government?

No. It neither supports nor defends any political position. Facts are written together with their sources, and where analysis is given, it is kept distinct from the facts and presented as several scenarios.

For areas whose recognition as a state is in dispute as a territorial issue, this site makes its judgement according to whether they are widely recognised, and participate, as a separate economy or customs territory or as a distinct political entity in practical terms.
